What the tiers actually mean
Shopify recognises agency partners at four levels, and the difference matters when you are choosing who builds your store.
Shopify Partner is the entry point - anyone who registers can call themselves a partner. It signals familiarity, not track record.
Plus Partner means an agency has proven itself on larger builds and works with Shopify's enterprise platform. A meaningful bar; plenty of good agencies sit here.
Premier Partner is an invitation-only tier near the top of the program. Shopify measures partners on merchant success over time - the volume and quality of stores launched, how those businesses perform afterwards, and depth across the platform. A small number of agencies hold it.
Platinum sits above Premier - the program's summit, held by a handful of agencies, typically operating at global scale.
Ask which tier an agency holds and how long they have held it. It is scored by the platform itself.
What it gets your project
Premier status changes what we can do for clients in practical ways:
- A direct line into Shopify. Escalations, edge-case platform questions, and early word on what is coming - answered by people, not ticket queues.
- Early access. New platform features often reach Premier partners before general release, which means your build decisions account for what is next, not just what is current.
- Referral-grade accountability. Shopify's own teams refer merchants to Premier partners. That channel exists only while the work stays excellent - which is exactly the incentive you want your agency to have.
What we do with it
The same things that earned it: Shopify and Plus builds, migrations from other platforms, wholesale and B2B portals, custom apps and integrations, and conversion work guided by Assay - our proprietary session-scoring app, run in production on client stores. Development-led, plainly scoped, built to survive real operations.
Recent work includes the Harris Farm launch - a technical restructure across 36 stores, now in ongoing CRO and optimisation; Who Is Elijah's fragrance storefront; Deiji Studios' international operations and CRO-led rebuild; Beds R Us, a major AU/NZ bedding retailer - live and in ongoing optimisation; and conversion lifts for The Perfect Cosmetics Company.
